Requirements
As a Berlin-based private individual or institution, you can rent a 3D printer from us. We rent out the user-friendly A1 Mini 3D printers from Bambu Lab. The A1 Minis have a build volume of 18 cm × 18 cm × 18 cm.
If you have no prior experience with 3D printing, we recommend attending one of our beginner courses.
Rental fees:
1 month: €40
2 months: €65
3 months: €85
Each additional month: €15
In addition, a deposit of €200 is required.
The minimum rental period is 1 month. Any started month is counted as a full month.
Purchase option
After a rental period of 7 months, there is an optional opportunity to purchase the printer for €100.
Pickup and return
The 3D printer is picked up by you after signing the rental agreement and returned after the rental period ends.
When renting, you will either receive a brand-new printer (still in its original packaging) or a previously used device.
Refund of the deposit
Upon return, a short test print is carried out together to check functionality. You will then receive your deposit back via instant bank transfer.
If there is significant damage to the printer that requires repair, 50% to 100% of the deposit may be withheld depending on the extent of the issue. The Bambu Lab A1 Mini 3D printers are extremely robust. With proper use and careful transport, problems are generally unlikely.
Maintenance of the 3D printers
A 3D printer requires only minimal maintenance (e.g., occasional oiling).
If the printer becomes clogged during the rental period, you must clear the clog yourself. This is usually simple. There are official instructional videos from Bambu Lab as well as many helpful YouTube videos showing how to resolve such issues.
Can I rent multiple printers?
Yes, that is possible.
Do I also receive filament spools with the 3D printer?
No, you must purchase these yourself from an online shop. We are happy to advise you.
Why should I rent a 3D printer instead of buying one right away?
● You only need one or more 3D printers for a limited period of time—for example for a special project, for teaching, or to temporarily scale up the production of an object.● As with many technical devices, it often happens that people buy an expensive machine when motivated, only to realize after a few weeks that it is rarely used and mostly sits unused. In such cases, renting can be significantly cheaper and more practical.● You may want to get to know the technology first and gain practical experience before potentially purchasing your own high-quality 3D printer later.
I represent an educational institution. Is it possible to receive on-site services for an additional fee?
